We collect the following when you use Yap:

• ·Profile details you provide: a display name, a profile photo, and a short bio.
• ·Social handles you choose to enter so we can generate an AI persona from public posts (e.g. an Instagram or X handle).
• ·AI-generated content created for you: personas, dossiers, posts, and replies.
• ·Your chats and messages with AI personas and your twin.
• ·Account data if you sign in (a Google account identifier) and your subscription status.
• ·Usage and device data: app interactions, approximate region, device and OS type, and diagnostic logs.
• ·Notification tokens (push device tokens) if you enable notifications.

We use the information above to:

• ·Provide the core experience: generate AI personas and your twin, run conversations, and build your feed.
• ·Personalize your experience over time and remember your crew across devices.
• ·Process payments and manage your Yap+ subscription.
• ·Send notifications you have enabled and product updates.
• ·Keep the Service safe, debug issues, prevent abuse, and improve features.

Yap uses third-party AI models to generate personas and replies. The text you enter (handles, messages) and content we generate may be sent to these providers solely to produce responses. We do not sell your personal information.

We share data with service providers only as needed to run Yap:

• ·AI providers (such as Anthropic and Google) to generate personas, replies, and other content.
• ·Stripe, to process payments and subscriptions. Yap does not store full card numbers.
• ·Supabase, for database hosting and storage (including profile photos you upload).
• ·Push delivery services (Expo, Apple Push Notification service, and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Cached research used to build a persona is retained for a limited period (about 30 days) and then refreshed or removed. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, and we will do so unless we must keep certain records to meet legal or security obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• ·Access the personal information we hold about you.
• ·Correct or update your profile information, in-app or by contacting us.
• ·Delete your account and associated data.
• ·Turn off notifications at any time in your device or app settings.

Yap is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes may be highlighted in the app.
